I dared to use your style for my family portrait. It is an homage of your one of a kind style.
Respect, Haejin."
I don't really have one family photo that I am happy with. Either we look all forced in front of camera, or at least one of us are closing our eyes, or the pictures are simply too old. Kev and I have always liked to take pictures of Torin, but because we are holding the camera, it is rare to have all 3 of us in the pictures together.
But I really wanted to have our family picture framed for the house. And I knew if we forced the set up, we would look as unnatural as we always looked. So this was my idea. I wanted to create our family portrait in a unique way.
As a designer, I wasn't feeling completely good about "imitating" Frank Miller's style, but because he is the one and only, and I wasn't going to claim this piece for nothing but the respect for his style, I am putting it out as our family portrait.
And I need to give my family photographer the proper credit. Thank you for your wonderful base photos.
