Having lots of time before moving is a luxury as well as a curse.
It is great that I have all this time to prep the move and pay attentions to the details of "pre-decorating" the house, but it is not so good since I keep creating projects, not so important to the bigger picture of "moving", but I just keep making fun insignificant things, just to feel the excitement. Instead, I should have focussed more on decluttering the house, booking a carpet cleaner, window cleaner...etc, more practical things to help the move.
So as a part of my monochromatic direction, I wanted to paint a few big and small things before the move. The biggest paint project is a drawer which would go in the guest room, and I soon realised that the job would require beyond my paint skill level, so it would wait until we move in and it would be done by Kevin.
But I had these two simple objects that I could practise my paint skill on and didn't really matter how good or bad I did.
My next project is a quite daunting, tho. I have been needing a new paint project for a while after a couple of decent results, yet I couldn't dare to start an attempt on this one. It is Torin's car display case that we bought through ebay, beautifully made, such a perfect case for all his match box cars. But it has so many small pieces that I need to dissemble, sand off, paint and eventually put it together again, so all I am doing is staring at it. And I have two of these cases to do. I should just bite my lips and start somewhere with it.....
By the way, Torin has A LOT more cars than on these photos, they are just not organised now.
