I have to admit, I am as obsessed as so many others with "gold", gold color lately.
I couldn't help noticing this rich shimmery gold all over the design elements lately, and I have been following for a while. I even looked up how to print something in gold, and the process seemed a bit more than how much I wanted to be involved, so I gave up.
Now I have been virtually decorating our new house, I found a need for some gold elements. As I was looking for small accent pieces in the new house, I came across a cute table lamp for Torin's room. It is designed by a Kiwi and you can customise your own color of the lamp. And I want the lamp to be a grey and yellow combo. And it all started there.
I originally planned to have Torin's room decorated with white and grey, but this lamp made me open up to an additional color, yellow. It would actually make his room more kid friendly with a touch of yellow here and there, and I got excited about the new direction that I was taking. On top of the table lamp, I am thinking of a yellow ceiling light, and a yellow fox pillow to add on top of white and grey room. Oh all these ideas, I just can't wait to move into our new house.
Back to the original train of thought, I wanted to explore some gold (almost yellow) elements in the room, so I played with a graphic piece that may end up being in a frame in Torin's room. As I mentioned before, I am not going to try to print anything in gold. I would just see if this gold texture would do the quick and dirty job for me.
