I had to think for a while if Halloween decorations should be the first post from our new house.
Why not. I don't know when I would get around doing my regular posting again, and if I wait longer, this Halloween theme post would get irrelevant as well.
Since we moved in and settled a bit, we have had a few get-togethers with our close friends. The house is bigger, the open layout almost requires more people in here. And weather is getting warmer, we have been enjoying having people over.
Halloween is big in this part of town, the school is close by, and the area is safe, it attracts lots of kids. Our first Halloween at a new house, and actually this year was our 4 year old's first trick or treat, so we prepared. We got 4 LARGE American Halloween multi candy bags imported, I started preparing Halloween decorations a week prior to the day.
We even hired a smoke machine from a film production company to create the mood, and it was such a hit among kids, we will definitely get it again next year.
Among all the random things that I did for Halloween decorations, I like my bat branches the best. It turned out quite effective.
I picked some dead branches and painted in black, and hung cut out paper bats with spider web to cover the vase.
I am not sure if I would go all the way like this year for the next, but sure we all enjoyed Halloween this year, and I am looking forwards to the next one already.
